China Mobile to build world's largest call center

   Date:2012-01-17

Construction of the 20,000-seat China Mobile (Luoyang) Call Centre, which is set to be the largest of its kind in the world, began in the city of Luoyang in central China's Henan province on Jan. 12.

The construction is expected to cost about 4 billion yuan.

China Mobile, the world's largest mobile phone operator, uses call centers to provide quality customer service and launch marketing campaigns. Its call centers are complete comprehensive information service centers that fully integrate communications and computer networks through the computer telephony integration (CTI) technology.

By calling the call center, customers can easily access various services such as information inquiry, applying for mobile phone service packages, making complaints or suggestions, reporting glitches, and making reservations.

The Luoyang call center is part of China Mobile's efforts to enhance the centralization of its call centers, in order to improve operating efficiency and to make full use of the Chinese mainland's geographical and cost advantages to provide standard and quality services to customers nationwide.

The Luoyang call center is located in the Luoyang Economic Development Zone, and covers an area of nearly 710,700 square meters, with a planned floor space of about 500,000 square meters. After the two-phase construction is completed, the call center will provide at least 60,000 jobs.
