CHINA will monitor liquefied petroleum gas prices to prevent "random" increases for the fuel used for cooking and heating in the world's most-populous nation, the country's top economic planner said.

Some producers are inflating prices by hoarding LPG and raising the cost of the fuel without government permission, the National Development and Reform Commission in Beijing said in a statement on its Website yesterday.
